Program Overview
Financial Engineering is a multidisciplinary field involving financial theory, the methods of engineering, the tools of mathematics and the the practice of developing a program.
Stanford University's Department of Management Science and Engineering is proud to introduce an innovative Financial Engineering Program to Hong Kong. The six-month program provides part-time training in the application of engineering methodologies and quantitative methods to finance. The program, taught by Stanford faculty in Hong Kong, is designed for those/individuals who wish to obtain positions in the securities, banking, financial management and consulting industries, or as quantitative analysts in corporate treasury and finance departments of general manufacturing and service firms.
Risk management is a rapidly evolving discipline, gaining increasing prominence across the financial industries. Our program will equip you with the tools required for effective asset and risk management, on which to build or advance your career.
We understand the value and power of professional and personal networks. That is why we are dedicated to providing a friendly and supporting environment, where you feel confident to share insights with other high-caliber students. The program brings together students with different backgrounds, interests and experience. This diversity, combined with the international spread of students, makes for a lively and stimulating learning environment.
The courses run each month and the schedule of delivery will accommodate even the busiest of professionals. The program provides pathways for students to earn a master's degree from Stanford or other American universities upon successful admission. We also intend to create a financial engineering community. There will also be a financial engineering community as well as seminars on Financial Engineering where industry practitioners from top investment banks will present their recent research or particular specialty. Students will hear firsthand about life in the financial world.
